Job hunting can be exhausting. Not only that it can be downright deadly on our self-esteem. It’s hard not to let rejection letters and silent phones start to get to us after a while. It’s easy to start to define ourselves on who rejects us.
But remember, we can also choose to focus on those that know we matter. Your career is important, but is doesn’t encompass all that you are. You are also your family, your friends, your hobbies. Spend some time remembering that when you start to get overwhelmed by the whole job search process and you’ll gain some much-needed perspective.
Counting your blessings is a cliché, but it works. And when you’re going through one of life’s more stressful trials it pays to keep this in mind.
