For years I have been a 3-miles-on-a-Saturday kind of runner. But I’ve always wanted to run a half marathon. This spring I started following a plan to actually get there. It is a modest plan, taking me until the fall to reach my goal, but each day I feel just a bit closer.
It is amazing how much better you feel when you start taking steps towards a goal. Even little steps.
Two of the biggest challenges most jobseekers face are rejection and overcoming their fear. Replace fear with confidence by taking action. Even small actions. Set up a weekly agenda and do a few small things each day to move you towards your career goal.
One action will lead to another and before you know it you’ll have momentum. And that is the key. Steady, repeatable, momentum wins the day.
